Luke 21:36 – Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

True disciples should watch and pray at all times. Not just when things get bad. This separates you from the ungodly world which is doomed to experience the wrath of God if it does not turn to Jesus for salvation. Being watchful of the lure of the world around you as well as a regular prayer life identify’s you with those who will stand confidently in total acceptance before the Lord. Jesus encouraged you to be persistent in prayer and faith, looking for the day when He exonerates the faithful in the judgment, so that they are able to stand before Him. Those who are actively watching and consistently praying for the return of Christ are those who are prepared for that day to come. If you are all caught up in the worries of this world, then you will be unprepared for the day He calls you home. This weeks verse reminds you to be actively waiting in hopeful anticipation for Jesus to come to your rescue.

Challenge:

How are you going to be worthy enough to stand before God? The only thing that will make you worthy is your position in Christ. Therefore, you have to trust Him as your Savior, and you have to commit your way to Him, so that if you are alive at the time of the Rapture, you will be going to meet Him in the air by the grace of God. Standing securely in Jesus allows you to be strong enough to endure any current struggle that may come your way. When you begin to grow weary is when you are attempting to stand in your own abilities. This is an indication to you that you must cast your cares upon Him so that he may help you through hard times in your life. Your challenge for this week is to live in a state of complete preparation for the return of the Lord Jesus for HIs church. Do you remember what you were worrying about last month? For the most part, probably not. Whatever it is you are worrying about this week, you will most likely not be worrying about next week or next month. Jesus told you not to worry about tomorrow, for today has enough trouble. Live in the moment and watch for ways Jesus will help you through each day this week. That is the only way to live completely prepared. God will bless you for doing so.
