1 Corinthians 2:9 – But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

We like to look at this verse as referring to heaven that is to come. Certainly there is truth to that fact, but what Paul is really speaking about here is the truths that have been revealed for the first time in the New Testament. The human mind, left to itself, could never discover the wonderful mysteries which were made known by the Holy Spirit at the beginning of the early church. Human reason is totally inadequate to find the truth of God.

Challenge:

What great things has God prepared for you today? Each day brings a new adventure for the one who loves the Lord. Sunday morning we talked about how we are to have an eternal perspective for our lives. How you are to make the most of each moment and live purposely, eagerly and expectantly. Your challenge is to take notice of what God is eager to do through you everyday this week. Do not reply solely on your physical abilities like your sight, your hearing or your heart, as this verse suggests. But be led by the Holy Spirit and boldly grasp each day with the assumption that God is going to use you.
