November 21

2 Peter 1:21 – for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

Prophecy never came by the will of man, as someone wisely has said, “What they wrote was not a concoction of their own ideas, and it was not the result of human imagination, insight, or speculation.” But rather it was holy men writing as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. They were moved by the Spirit to provide for you the scriptures which are as powerful today as they were the day they were written. God directed these men as to the very words to write, and yet He did not destroy the individuality or style of the writers.

Challenge:

What would you say the percentage of all you do is being done as the Holy Spirit leads you? We read in Acts 16 that the Holy Spirit stopped Paul from preaching the Gospel in Asia and Bithynia because He wanted him to go to Macedonia. There are time that you want to do certain things when the Holy Spirit knows what is much better for you. How exactly the Spirit hindered Paul is not given to us, but he sensed the Spirits direction in his life and was obedient. Paul had a strong relationship with the Lord and was in tune to the Spirit. The challenge I have for you this week is to be sensitive to the Spirit and move in the direction that He allows. This week submit your plans to God and then be ready for the Holy Spirit to show you where He wants you to go and where He does not want you to go. Then be obedient to His will and you too will be moved by the Holy Spirit. May the Lord bless you abundantly.
