John 8:36 – Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

The Son makes you free indeed. You no longer have to be a servant of sin, if you place your trust in Jesus Christ. God never intended you to live in defeat or in failure in your Christian life. He intended for you to live for Him by the power of the Holy Spirit and in the place of total freedom. Many will think they are free in this world when, in reality, they are more in bondage than they will ever know. Bondage to self, to success, to substance abuse and bondage to the wayward ways of the world they live in. Only through a relationship with their Creator will any human being be truly set free from the wages of sin. Jesus lovingly took your sin upon Himself and has forever delivered you from anything that would separate you from God the Father. Only in Jesus can there be TOTAL freedom. Many men and women sacrificed their lives to give us the freedom we enjoy in the Unites States, but One Savior sacrificed His life so that you could be completely free spiritually.

Challenge:

May you be thankful for all those who fought and gave their lives to assure you the freedom you enjoy and all too often take for granted. I challenge you this week to be extra thankful to God for setting you free through the work of Jesus Christ upon the cross. Listen, when you get frustrated standing in a long line at the grocery store, be thankful you have the ability to buy food for yourself or your family. When you are enjoying your morning coffee at the coffee shop, be thankful for any opportunity to talk to a stranger and possibly brighten their day. Every situation you find yourself in can become a divine appointment if you will simply allow yourself to be available to the Lord. Remember how powerfully God used Joseph in Egypt, John on Patmos and Paul in the prisons? He can and will use you as well, if you are willing to be used and watchful for His guidance. The Lord wants to reach the lost with His love and He wants to use you to accomplish His mission. Never forget that He has set you free and the work He has for you to do down here on earth will all be worth the effort once you are with Him in Glory. Be free, be thankful and be used by God this week. Happy Memorial Day. God bless you.
