Isaiah 35:3-4 – Strengthen the weak hands, And make firm the feeble knees. Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God; He will come and save you.”
Just as Aaron and Hur lifted the hands of Moses in his time of weakness, you are to support the hands of the weary and tired. When times of weakness come, these are the moments that the Lord delivers His strength through you for the assistance of others. The Apostle Paul encourages us in Romans 15:1 “We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves.” You use your hands to work with and you use your knees to pray with; those with weak hands are not working for the Lord as they should and those with feeble knees are not praying as they should. In our present trials, we need the strong hope of the Lord to overcome our fearful hearts. Our fearful hearts are not hoped by a vain, vague optimism; they are helped by the assured confidence that He will come and save. God always has a way of showing up at just the right time and in the right way.
Challenge:
There is so much to be thankful for as a child of God. Yet, there are also so many things to be fearful of in this world that we live in. We cannot give what we do not have. if your hands are weak, you cannot help someone else in their weakness. If your knees are feeble, you cannot help another that needs stability. Your strength must come from the Lord. He must be your Rock and your Redeemer. Because when you are strong in the Lord, then you will be able to come along side others and help them in their time of need. Your challenge this week is to strengthen someone who needs the encouragement to stay their course and persevere. When the person in front of you has a heavy burden that they are carrying, you can see it on their face. Ask them how you can be praying for them. When you coworker is not acting the way they usually do, they may be hurting in some way. Ask them if there is someway that you can help them. These kind of opportunities are all around us, so keep an eye out for them, and see how the Lord may use you this week. God is our ultimate provider and protector, so let Him do what He does best. Giving Him all the glory and praise. God bless you this week.
