Ephesians 4:32 – And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
We had a wonderful blessing at this past Sundays service as God taught us a compelling message on forgiveness. Forgiveness is something the Christian is called to give to those who wrong us so that we can become freed from bitterness and hurt. Jesus teaches you that the best way to forgive those in your life that have hurt you is to prayer for them and ask God to bless them. Certainly no easy task for anyone, but if you can get in the habit of praying for your enemies you will release them from holding you in emotional bondage. Jesus said to Peter to forgive your brother seventy times seven times. In other words, forgive and keep on forgiving so that your heart will be in the right place toward other people and you get in the habit of forgiving.
Challenge:
Have you been able to forgive that person who emotionally hurt you? Do you still not talk to that friend who borrowed money from you and never paid you back? Remember, God has forgiven you of so much and He continues to forgive you of the wrongs you commit each day. If you want to be like your Father in heaven, then you have to have a forgiving spirit and attitude. Your challenge this week is to practice forgiveness by praying for those who you have been unable to fully forgive. Pray that God would bless their lives and that He would use them mightily for His kingdom. Pray that God would give them the desires of their hearts and that their giftedness would increase. Pray that God would meet their financial needs and that He would allow them to be a blessing to others. Thank God for them and for allowing your paths to cross so you could pray for them. May God bless you as you are obedient to His word and His wishes.
