1 Peter 4:11 – If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

May I point out that in this verse Peter is not just speaking to pastors, church leaders or ministry personnel. He is addressing anyone who opens their mouth to speak, as well as anyone who wants to help another human being that is in trouble or in some type of a need. If you are going to speak at all let your speech be with the power of God’s word. In the same way, if you are going to help someone through a difficult situation, you will need the wisdom that comes from heaven. That is how you will be most effective and that is how you will see the greatest results. You see, mankind would love to take all the credit for discovering on their own all the knowledge we have available to us today. No matter how highly gifted we are in our Christian service, we must never become too proud or draw too much attention to ourselves. The giftedness we possess did not originate from our own efforts, but was given to us from God above. In fact, we have nothing which we have not received. All of our service should be performed so that God receives all the credit and the glory that He deserves.

Challenge:

Are you the kind of person that God can count on when He wants to impact someone’s life? Has the Lord given you a voice to influence your organization, industry or society? Perhaps you have a strong testimony that when shared would cause others to step out in faith and make a real change? God wants to use you. Are you letting Him use you? I challenge you this week to share with someone how much God has changed your life and how important He really is to you. Never think that your life is insignificant. Do not doubt that the Lord will use you. Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to direct you to the people that need the most encouragement. You will be pleasantly surprised if the person standing in line with you turns out to be the answer to that prayer. If you will simply make yourself available for God, He will give you those Divine appointments that will have eternal rewards. If you will simply open your mouth, God will give you the words to speak. If you will make time to meet with someone in need, God will touch your life and theirs. God bless you.
