Isaiah 55:10-11 – “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater, So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Here prominence is given to the Word of God. The only place where the gospel is found, is in the Word of God. Salvation is a revelation of God, and the Word of God is likened to the rain that comes down from heaven. You see, the gospel is not asking you to do something. Neither is the gospel something that man has thought up. Man does not work his way up to God by some Tower of Babel effort, but he receives God’s revelation which comes down from heaven like rain. The rain causes the earth to become fruitful. The seeds germinate, become productive and then bring forth abundantly. The Word of God is also the seed; and, when the rain and seed get together in the human heart, there will be fruit. The Word will never return to Him void. Therefore, share it with people even if they do not immediately believe it. Remember, God promises His Word will have an effect, that The Word will accomplish that which He sends it to do. That is a promise.

Challenge:

There is power within the pages of your Bible. Page after page is filled with the truth of who God is and what He wants from His people. Therefore, it makes perfectly logical sense, to get the Word of God in you. Memorize the Word, meditate on the Word and spend time reading the Word of God so you will know His heart and His will for you. Once the scriptures are in you, that is when you are now equipped to share His word with anyone you come in contact with throughout your day. This is how His word goes forth. I challenge you this week, as you read your devotion, and as you read the scriptures, to  ask God to help you share those verses with others throughout your day. Be sensitive to the stranger next to you, that may need God to encourage them. Pay close attention to your co-workers, and see if there is an opportunity to share your morning devotion with them. Perhaps God will place someone specifically on your mind that you can text to let them know you were praying for them. All of these ways are how God’s word goes forth from His mouth to accomplish what He pleases. May God bless you richly.
