John 2:5 – His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”

Take a good long look at those words “Whatever He says to you, do it.” Again, whatever Jesus says to YOU, do it. Think how much more fruitful your life would be, if you actually followed this statement! To do whatever the Lord tells you to do no matter what, knowing He will never tell you to do anything He will not also equip you to do. When Peter asked the Lord to call him out of the boat to walk on water, Jesus said “Come!” and Peter stepped out on the Sea of Galilee in obedience to the Lords words. What the Lord told Peter to do, he did without questioning or doubting. We often question when we should move or act. When, in fact, at the moment you hear the need, that is when we should respond.

Challenge:

When the Lord shows you something or tells you something He wants you to do, how do you respond? Do you just “do it” or do you question what it is He has asked of you? Your challenge this week is to DO WHATEVER Jesus says to you, whether it be in prayer, through His Holy Word or by the Holy Spirit. After Mary told the servants to do whatever Jesus told them to, the Lord told them to fill pots with water and then to draw the water out and give it to the master of the wedding feast. They did as Jesus said, and the water had miraculously turned into choice wine as the servants followed His command. So too with you, as you faithfully follow the Lord’s direction He will do the impossible in your life. If He asks you to pray over someone you are having coffee with, pray right then and there for them. When you sense a need in someone life that you can meet, then meet that need as the Spirit leads you. When God places an old friend on your heart, reach out to them and see how they are doing. Oftentimes, I find that is the Lord revealing an opportunity to encourage someone. Be faithful and do whatever He tells you this week, without doubting.
