1 Corinthians 7:20 – Let each one remain in the same calling in which he was called.
Paul is saying here, “If you’re called as a Jew, then be a believing Jew. If you’re called as a Gentile, be a believing Gentile.” What matters is that every Christian should realize he belongs to Christ and needs to remain obedient to Him. Every vocation then becomes Christian service performed for the Lord. Believers need to remain and continue in the place God has for them. We are prone to think that a change in circumstances is always the answer to our problem. But the problem is usually within us and not around us. The heart of every problem is the problem in the heart. I have witnessed couples go through divorce and seek happiness in new circumstances, only to discover that they carried their problems with them. The best thing to do is to try and make the best of your current situation before attempting to make an unnecessary change.
Have you been ignoring His call, has He asked you to step out on the water but you find only your toe is submerged? Today ask God to remind you what He has called you to and where He has gifted you within His family. Then step out completely and rely on the Holy Spirit to equip you to fulfill that calling. Look for the Lord to work through you and enable you to touch the lives of others. God has gifted you my friend, use that gift for the glory of God.
