John 1:41-42 – He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, “We have found the Messiah” (which is translated, the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus.

When a person finds Jesus, he usually wants his relatives to meet Him too. Salvation is too good to keep to yourself. Andrew went to his own brother with the wonderful news, “We have found the Messiah!” What an amazing announcement this was! For at least four thousand years, men had waited for the promised Christ, God’s Anointed One. Truly they were living where history was being made. How simple Andrew’s message was. It was only five words “We have found the Messiah” and God used this message to draw Peter to Himself. This teaches that you do not have to be a great preacher or a clever speaker. You only need to tell others about the Lord Jesus in simple words, and God will take care of the rest. Andrew brought his brother to the right place and to the right Person. He brought him to Jesus. It is the nature of the Christian experience, that those who enjoy the many benefits of following Jesus to have the desire to share them with others.

Challenge:

Has God done an amazing work in your life? Has Jesus shown Himself to be faithful to you over the years?  Do you share those stories of transformation with other people in your life? You see, because of Andrew’s interest, Peter became a great fisher of men, and one of the leading apostles of the Lord. You never know what God will do through someone you bring to the Lord Jesus. In fact, it is not necessary for you to know what God will do, you just need to know God can do anything with anyone, you must simply tell others about Jesus and His love and forgiveness. Your challenge this week is to share with others what God has done and is doing in your life. Maybe you have a family member that needs to know the power of Christ, or a coworker that has not yet met the Savior of their soul, or possibly a total stranger that desires to understand the fact that God loves them and has a plan for them. As you go through your day, be sensitive to individuals around you that may need to hear the words, “We have found the Messiah.” I pray that God will lead you to specific individuals whom He wants to save. That He would give you those opportunities to be a part of His plan. God bless you always.
