2 Timothy 4:7 – I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Paul was confident he fulfilled the Lords work for his own life. He stood proud of what God had done through him and how he was used of the Lord to further Gods church and His kingdom. He was not boasting in his own abilities, but rather boasting in how powerfully God had used him in sharing the gospel message to all he had come in contact with. How wonderful a feeling it must have been for the Apostle to look back into his past and see Gods hand guiding him and directing him in all the towns, cities and even jails. It should be the desire for all those who call on the name of Jesus to finish their time on this earth and be confident in such a fruitful existence. The fight that you fight is a GOOD fight, a worthy fight. When all is said and done and you stand in the presence of Gods glory, you will come to the conclusion that it was worth it to keep the faith.

Challenge:

Happy New Year to you. With 360 days left in 2015 what are you going to do with each of these days? You will have plenty of opportunities presented before you throughout this year. Opportunities to make the right choices for yourself and for your future. I challenge you this week to not give up on yourself or on your dreams and make good godly choices. You see, with every right choice you make you will be strengthening yourself and leading yourself into that victorious life God has in store for you. Paul calls this life a “fight”, because he knows that not every decision you make will be an easy one for you. But one thing he shows you is that if you keep the “faith” and always trust the Lord right to the very end you will indeed finish well. Fight the temptation to speak a lie so you can get something you want, but speak the truth and watch God honor you. Avoid the temptation to compromise in the midst of difficult situations and stand firm in truth with all integrity and God will bless your faithfulness to Him. Keep the finish line in your sights and see how the Lord bless you for doing so. It is going to be a great year!
