Psalm 133:1 – Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

This verse comes to my mind whenever a missions team prepares to leave for their time in the field to minister to both young and old. The need for unity is so vitally important between team members, and the group they will be working with while away from home. I have seen the Lord do so many amazing things with relationships of people who barely knew each other just a week earlier. Even complete strangers that meet for the first time at a foreign airport become like family in just a short period of time. This is something God is well pleased with as He looks down from His heavenly throne. I have witnessed firsthand when tensions arise and personalities flare up, that simply coming together as a group and taking the time to pray for unity to be restored, that things quickly settle back down. This also works away from the missions field, I might add. Who could you use some restored unity with this week?

Challenge:

This morning, myself and seven others will be departing Nashville to work with our precious sister Suzelle in Haiti. This will be a week of construction and loving on the children and families connected to her ministry, LakayTimoun. Please be committed to pray for us as we travel and dedicate ourselves for one week to the work the Lord would have us do. Pray that the team would be unified. We have our plan for the week, but may we be prepared for anything God would rather us be doing and not become distracted from accomplishing His purposes for the week. Unity is possible if you remember the words of the Apostle Paul in his letter to the Philippian church found in Philippians 2:4, “Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.” Unity is a responsibility that belongs to all of us. You must do your part and, at the same time, I must do my part by looking out for the interests of others. We are traveling to Haiti to look out for the interests of these children.
