1 Thessalonians 5:17 – pray without ceasing

As we approach the end of this year and welcome in the New Year, there is definitely one thing that must not diminish, but rather must flourish, and that one thing is prayer. Prayer must be a constant attitude for the life of the Christian. You must pray at regular times and you must always be ready to pray as specific needs arise. If you do this, you will enjoy continual communion with the Lord through your times of prayer and talking with your Heavenly Father.

Challenge:

Would you call yourself a prayer warrior or a prayer worrier? A prayer warrior is one who is committed to praying at every opportunity for themselves and for others? A prayer worrier is one who prays only as a last resort. Your challenge this week (and this coming year) is to increase your frequency of prayer. When your coworker takes credit for your hard work, pray. When a family member hurts your feelings, pray. When you have a financial burden, pray. When you begin to get angry or feel ill, pray. Before you do anything, pray and ask God to show you what you need to do. For how long should you pray, you ask? Don’t stop until you receive God’s answer. That is praying without ceasing. God bless you as you talk with Him more frequently this year.
