Genesis 32:26 – And He said, “Let Me go, for the day breaks.” But he said, “I will not let You go unless You bless me!”

Jacob finds himself in the place of just holding on to God. He is no longer wrestling with the Lord. With all of his might he is just holding on to the only One who can bless him. He discovered that you do not get anywhere with God by struggling with Him or resisting His will. Ultimately the only way that you can get anywhere with Him is by surrendering to Him and just staying attached to Him. Have you had to learn this lesson in your life? Have you reached the end of your rope and had to wrap your arms around God and not let go? When you are determined to hold on, He is there ready and willing to bless you.

Challenge:

Would you say you are as determined as Jacob is not to let go of God? Have you come to the understanding that it is only the Lord that can truly give you a permanent blessing? I pray you have come to the place in your life that you realize how wrestling with God is a total waste of time. God wants to bless your life, but He cannot bring complete blessing if you are constantly struggling with His will and working against His timing. Your challenge this week is to cease from fighting with the Lord and settle into holding onto Him for dear life. Let Him take you to where He wants you to be emotionally and physically rather that you trying to get Him where you are or where you want to go. When the Lord seems to be delaying His answers, you must trust that He is working behind the scenes putting things in place. Faith and trust hold on for the rise and refuse to let go. May God bless you always.
