2 Timothy 1:6 – Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.

Paul says to young Timothy, “You have a gift my son, you have a godly heritage, now get out there and use your gift.” Notice, Paul says that Timothy is to stir up his own gift and not depend on others to do that for him. You have been given gifts my friend and it is your responsibility to use them for the glory of God.

Challenge:

Have your gifts gone dormant? Have you felt ineffective? Perhaps there was a time in your past when you were easily being used by the Lord to help others, but now you find it difficult for whatever reasons.  That is exactly what Timothy was experiencing, he was feeling discouraged in his life and in his ministry. Let me challenge you, as Paul does here to Timothy, to exercise the talents that are inside of you and watch how God uses you. Step out in faith allow the Holy Spirit to flow through your life.
