Romans 16:19 – For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil.

Paul speaks of the well known faith of the Roman believers and how pleased he is for their powerful testimony. But he also knows that their faith must continue and that they must consistently practice living uprightly in all they do. You see, it takes a lifetime to build a strong witness and it only takes a short time to tarnish that reputation. Christians are to pursue good things in this life and refrain from evil temptations that are all around you. Living the obedient life is a life that others find worthy of following and so you will attract others when you do so.

Challenge:

Wouldn’t it be great if you were well known for your obedience to the Lord? When people talk about you, will the one thing that stands out to them be your obedience? What a magnificent goal this should be for you to strive for in your life. Therefore, your challenge this week is to submit yourself to the authority of God no matter what the cost to you may be. Rather than taking your cell phone out during your lunch break to check Twitter or Instagram, consider opening up your bible and reading a couple chapters. See how God speaks to you through His word and then ask Him how you should respond to what you just read. Then finally, take action and follow through with whatever it is He wants you to do. Be obedient this week. God bless you.
