Ephesians 3:20-21 – Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
It is right to conclude all your prayers with praises to God. Your Savior has taught you to do so. Paul describes Him as a God that “is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.” There is unlimited capacity of grace and mercy in God, which the prayers of all believers can never exhaust. Whatever you may ask, or think to ask, still God is able to do more, abundantly more, exceedingly abundantly more. Notice, in your requests made to God, your faith should be encouraged by His all-sufficiency and His almighty power. “According to the power which works in us.” When you ask for grace from God, you must also give glory to God. By giving all glory to God, you attribute greatness and honor to Him. The Mediator of these praises is Jesus Christ. All God’s gifts come from Him to us through the hand of Christ; and all our praises pass from us to Him through the same hand of Christ. Finally, God will be praised throughout all ages; for He will forever have a church to praise Him.
Perhaps you have not considered the all-sufficiency of the Lord lately? Have your prayers ever been filled with more doubt rather than strong belief? This weeks scripture is wonderful evidence of the confidence the Apostle Paul had in the ability of God to not only answer his prayers, but to go far above and beyond his request. God knows what you have need of well before you even know you have that need. Your challenge this week is to pray with a fresh boldness and renewed confidence. God hears you. God knows what you need most. You must trust Him with the circumstances in your life. Keep these words on your mind this week, “Exceeding Abundantly Above” because that is who God is to you. When you need comfort, He will give you exceedingly abundantly above what you think you need. When you need an answer to a difficult situation, He will answer you exceedingly abundantly above the answer you think you need. Never forget that the power to believe is in you by the power of the Holy Spirit. When He answers you, remember to give Him the glory He deserves. May God indeed bless you exceeding abundantly.
Have a God centered week,
