April 27

Titus 2:7-8 – in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility, sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you.

Paul says to this young preacher Titus, “You be a pattern, an example, for the other men.” Holy living should be the desire of every believer that strives to honor the Lord Jesus Christ. Titus is to train up young believers in the ways of the Lord. The Apostle Paul encourages Titus to have a lifestyle that is powerfully lived both in actions and in words. He is to live in such a way that no one can point a finger at his character. In fact, quite the opposite, that by his actions and his words they would become convicted by the Spirit of God and their accusations would be stopped. They may not cease their attacks, of course, but they might at least be embarrassed by having to make up their own false accusations.

Challenge:

Who in your life has shown you by their actions what it means to live the Christian life effectively? I challenge you this week to follow the godly examples that are in your life, and even more importantly, be conscious of the example you are being to others that are watching you. This may include your children, coworkers, employees, classmates, managers or teachers. You see, no matter what is currently happening in your life, you can still make a difference in someone else’s day, by showing them Jesus through your actions. Listen, you have been given a divine mission by God to impact the world around you. Jesus said “Go therefore and make disciples”, and by this, He meant that wherever you go or whatever you do, go in the hopes of bringing others to salvation in Him. You do not do the saving, Jesus does that, but let your life be the magnet that draws others to Christ. May God empower you by the presence of the Holy Spirit and cause you to make a difference for Him. Gods grace be with you.
