Matthew 5:13 – “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.”
Among other things, salt stimulates thirst, and as the salt of the earth, you must be drawing those around you who are thirsty for something other than what the world has given them. You know that as being the living water of Jesus Christ. People should say, “There’s something about you that creates in me a thirst for what you’re enjoying.”
Take a moment, right now, and ask yourself these questions. “Am I enjoying my life?” and “Do I enjoy my relationship with God?” and finally “Are others drawn to Jesus because of that joy?” I challenge you today, as your pastor, live your life richly so that others will be drawn to Christ. He is risen! He is alive. Live your life because of that fact with joy unspeakable.
