John 16:33 – These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.
Is it even possible to have peace in this present life? May I suggest to you, that if you are securely in Christ, you have total access to His promised peace today. If you fully recognize the fact that you belong to Him and that you are protected by Him, than no matter what pressures surrounds you, you can have the hope that Jesus is right there with you. One of my most favorite statements that I have ever heard is this, “Don’t tell God how big your problems are, tell your problems how BIG your God is.” What a powerful statement that really is. God is bigger than your problems. God is bigger than your struggles. Nothing that you are currently facing is to hard to fix for God. Let that sink into your brain and into your heart. Because, today could very well be the day, that your problems are removed by the Lord. God’s people, as they stood at the shoreline of the Red Sea, probably thought that their problem was too big to get out of. Their enemy was quickly approaching and they had nowhere to go. But God made a way for their escape. Against all odds, the Red Sea opened up and made the way for their safety and deliverance.
Challenge:
Do you need a “Red Sea” experience in your life this week? Are you facing a seemingly impossible situation? Do you believe your God is bigger than anything coming against you? Perhaps today is the day you need to start looking at God and stop looking at the problems before you. Peter walked on water as long as his eyes were on Jesus. Hebrews 12 reminds you to “look at Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith.” Jesus knew that His followers would face difficulty in this life. That is why He reminds us that He has overcome the world. He is your source of peace. The Apostle Paul was successful in his ministry because he looked at what was in front of him, not through his own eyes, but through the eyes of Jesus. He knew the truth that he could do all things through His Savior. Your challenge this week is to face each and every obstacle with the assurance that God is bigger, God is stronger, and God is mightier. I want you to speak these words to yourself, out loud if necessary. “My God is Bigger!” Then I want you to recognize the peace He gives to you. He can do the impossible and He will show you the way to His peace. This week… “Be of good cheer!” God bless you.
